Cyrus McCrory with his wife, Jonie, and their three children, Jack, Thea, and Elsa.

This weekend Cyrus McCrory experienced a seizure and was taken to the hospital by his wife, Jonie.

At the hospital, the doctors found a low grade (small, slowly growing) tumor in Cyrus's brain. After meeting with a neurosurgeon this morning, Cyrus has been scheduled for surgery on Wednesday, 5/26, beginning at 3 pm at St. Alphonsus. He will be awake during the surgery so the doctors can safely remove as much of the tumor as possible without affecting his speech.

The McCrory's do not have medical insurance.

We official have our state stamps! Thanks to the kids who have been saving their money. We had a little over $20 dollars in our "bring our sister home" jar, and guess how much the cost of the official state seal was? You guessed it $20! Thank you Lord for you are good! Addie and Porter are so happy to be contributing to this process. One step closer.

We are fortunate and blessed to be on our adoption journey with my cousin and his family. So we decided to celebrate this momentousness occasion together.

I just wanted to share our excitemnt with you! Someone from Sweden found our blog through Magpie and muttonfly(a great blog check it out). Anyway they are sending bottle caps, how awesome! Thank you for you support! We are so thankful for all your efforts:)Addie's collection is growing and morphing into some pretty darling magnets. Her class brings her some everday, thanks Mrs.Lyons second greaders! We are planning a art party for kids. Wow, I am just in awe at the support you are all showing my sweet daughters. One working so hard to get the other home, a precious act of love!
The support has been amazing! Addie has received lots of bottle caps and as fast as they come she is turning them into something wonderful.

Addie's Art for Africa

So sweet Addie would like to help her sister come home .
She is collecting bottle caps,designing artwork for the center and turning them into darling magnets.

While doing laundry I pulled out three bottle caps from her pocket. "What are these for?" I asked. "I want to help bring home my sister!" Then she told me about her idea. Bless her heart!
So the first three should be done soon.

Family Fun Weekend

We had a great weekend hanging out as a family. Basketball games, bike riding, movies, out to dinner,playing with cousins... As we sat on the couch yesterday looking at our awesome pictures of the weekend the thought crept in of our little girl waiting in Ethiopia for her forever famly! Can't wait to get just a glimpse of her. Can't wait to hold her in our arms and take her along for all these adventures.

Porter did great at his first basketball game, complete with a tunnel, disco ball and dj. Add's did a great job supporting him, handing out the treats after the game and running around with all her friends:)

Home Study Done!!!!!

Our Homestudy is done! Now we just need to get AWAA approval. Things are moving along nicely for the moment. Although I find myself thinking about our daughter whom we don't know yet,a myriad of emotions go through my head. We miss,long,worry and pray for her daily. I rest in knowing God already knows who she is and His perfect timing will bring her home. Praise Him, one step closer....

So our homestudy should be done any minute! Phew! Keep working on our dossier, everday we get a little more done. Such a great feeling. It is so wierd to be paper pregnant. What is our little munchkin doing today? Is she ok? Lots of prayer.

We have been busy over the last few days gathering some of the paperwork for our dossier. WOW,who new how much there was! With each little step, no matter how insignificant it feels, we are that much closer to our daughter.

So we have been diligently filling out paper work, visiting the doctor and getting our background checks. We are excited to feel like we are accomplishing something. The entire process will take between 9-18 months we are told. Until then lots of prayer, especially for out little one who waits so far away!
